Amazon is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the EC2 Capacity Blocks team, responsible for reserving GPU and HPC capacity for ML workloads. You will own the service roadmap, guide technical direction, and lead an engineering team of 8–10.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on engineering team experience.
• 3+ years designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience with full software development lifecycle and live-site operations.
• Experience partnering with product or program management.

Responsibilities

• Own the EC2 Capacity Blocks service and its roadmap, making architectural and prioritization decisions.
• Lead and grow an inclusive team of 8–10 engineers, mentoring them through design reviews and planning.
• Partner with EC2 capacity planning teams and product managers to align on priorities and deliver solutions.
• Define and maintain operational metrics and audit mechanisms to measure system health and customer experience.
• Drive the technical roadmap, evaluating Rust and Java services for reliability and performance.
