YWCA Hartford Region is seeking a Head Teacher I to create a nurturing, safe, and educational environment at the Early Learning Center. You will plan age-appropriate activities and supervise assistant teachers and volunteers under the Site Manager’s guidance.

You will ensure compliance with OEC/NAEYC/CDC standards, support child development through differentiated instruction, and provide timely feedback to staff while maintaining accurate records and relationships with families and the community.

Formación

• Must meet OEC education requirements or hold a CDA with 12 credits in Early Learning.
• Strong knowledge of child development and psychology is required.
• Excellent communication skills with staff and parents.
• Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate assistant teachers and volunteers.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate programs supporting physical, emotional, and intellectual development.
• Coach staff to implement developmentally appropriate lessons and plans.
• Monitor program delivery to comply with accreditation, licensing, and safety standards.
• Provide feedback to staff within 48 hours and escalate concerns as needed.
• Maintain documentation of child progress and program records.
• Ensure health, safety, and CACFP compliance and proper medication handling.
