Job summary

YWCA Hartford Region, Inc. is seeking an Instructional Leader to guide teaching practices, curriculum design, and classroom management across early childhood programs, fostering high-quality learning and positive interactions with children.

You will monitor progress, support staff development, ensure compliance with OEC/NAEYC standards, and collaborate with families, site managers, and outside agencies through documentation and professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum twelve (12) credits in early childhood education required or must obtain 12 credits within one year of employment.
• Bachelor's degree required; focus area in early childhood education, psychology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years related experience in a child development program.
• Minimum three (3) years as a head teacher.
• Knowledge of state licensing and accreditation guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership to ensure high standards of curriculum delivery and classroom management.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional programs with teachers, including objectives, strategies, and assessment techniques.
• Review curriculum and lesson plan development and implementation.
• Oversee planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational programs at the site level.
• Monitor children’s progress to ensure educational and developmental needs are met.
• Attend Sanctuary Training and other job-related trainings; document and communicate findings.
