Job summary

RE Mason Company is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer to design, coordinate, and document hardware systems for industrial and building automation projects. You will work across internal teams and with vendors to ensure compliant, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes AutoCAD proficiency, cross-functional collaboration, and documentation control, with remote-based work and occasional site visits to client locations and fabrication facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in electrical engineering or mechatronics.
• Experience with industrial automation systems across building, facility, and manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of NEC, ISA, UL508A and related electrical/instrumentation standards.
• Experience with control panel design and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design coordination between internal engineering, project management, and client teams.
• Coordinate prefabrication activities to ensure designs are ready for installation.
• Manage design review processes to meet project specifications and standards.
• Lead regular project coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
• Define and manage I/O requirements for control systems and generate I/O tables.
• Create equipment datasheets and maintain project documentation throughout lifecycle.
• Develop register mapping for field equipment communicating to PLCs.
• Act as primary contact for vendor coordination on hardware specifications and lead times.
• Review vendor submittals for compliance with project requirements.
• Use AutoCAD to create and update floor plans, system diagrams, wiring diagrams, and installation details.
