Job summary

Technical Staffing Resources is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to support a major EPC client in Corpus Christi, TX. This contract position requires applying advanced engineering techniques, guiding designers, and coordinating with multiple disciplines on complex piping and E/I systems.

The role emphasizes fieldwork, 2D MicroStation drawings, and preparing design packages while ensuring safety, code compliance, and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of applicable industry E/I design experience.
• Proficient in MicroStation and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Great communication skills and ability to lead project reviews.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Design E/I for plant capital and cost projects from P&ID's, client specs, and vendor data.
• Develop E/I discipline design schedules and update regularly.
• Meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Perform fieldwork, take measurements, locate tie-ins, and as-build existing systems.
• Create and revise 2D MicroStation drawings (schematics, single lines, DCS I/O drawings, MCCs, P&IDs, etc.).
• Assemble design packages (scope of work, transmittals, drawings, vendor info, quotes).
• Lead E/I discipline design reviews for construction, maintenance, and operations.
• Ensure designs are safe, functional, and compliant with codes.
• Interface with other disciplines and support construction during installation.
• Review project design estimates and scopes for new projects.
