Job summary

KP Recruiting Group is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for DSP in a remote role with occasional travel to Rochester, NY. You will lead real-time DSP and embedded software efforts in aerospace & defense, shaping waveform design and signal processing.

The role blends hands-on leadership with architecture, MATLAB and C/C++, Agile Scrum, and cross-functional collaboration across software, hardware, testing, and product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline with 9+ years of experience.
• Graduate degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on embedded C/C++ and real-time DSP experience.
• Experience designing digital communications waveforms and MATLAB proficiency.
• Leadership of collaborative software development and rigorous verification.
• Strong requirements, design, integration and verification skills.
• Knowledge of RTOS, multicore systems, Agile Scrum, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full software lifecycle from requirements through testing.
• Design, simulate, and implement DSP algorithms for digital communications.
• Drive waveform design and signal-processing software development.
• Develop embedded software using C/C++ and MATLAB.
• Perform system analyses, design trades, and technical evaluations.
• Lead software architecture, detailed design, implementation, and docs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate hardware and software.
• Develop test procedures and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Partner with manufacturing, test, product, and program management.
• Work in an Agile Scrum environment and mentor teammates.
