Aurora is seeking a Senior Staff Signal Processing Engineer to lead DSP algorithm development for next‑generation lidar, from simulation to silicon. You will own core DSP pipelines, optimize for FPGA/SIMD hardware, and collaborate closely with photonics, R&D, and electrical engineering teams.

This role emphasizes cross‑functional leadership and architectural strategy. The position requires 10+ years in advanced DSP with strong modeling in Python/C++/MATLAB, and experience moving DSP concepts

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 10+ years of industry DSP experience.
• Expert-level mastery of signal processing mathematics including spectral estimation, filtering, phase recovery, modulation/demodulation, and noise mitigation.
• Proven track record applying DSP in radar/optical/RF or computational physics contexts.
• Experience mapping high-throughput algorithms to hardware with tight latency and compute constraints (FPGAs, SoC/SIMD, ASIC).
• Proficient in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Architect Core DSP Pipelines: lead end-to-end DSP pipeline development for next‑gen lidar.
• Optimize for Hardware Execution: translate models to FPGA/SIMD platforms and guide ASIC specs.
• Bridge Physics and Hardware: map optical noise dynamics to digital processing requirements.
• Build Simulation & Tooling Environments: create scalable sim frameworks for algorithm validation.
• Verification and Bring-Up: drive DSP IP testing across simulation, emulation, and ASIC bring-up.
