Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead in Ada, MN to help develop and monitor individual plans and oversee client records for completeness and accuracy. You will maintain safety, monitor medications and progress notes, and address hazards at the site and during travel.

You will also document activity, participate in required trainings, and meet regulatory expectations while supporting vulnerable populations with compassion and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Experience and/or training with individuals with disabilities (≥1 year).
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training and CPR certificate (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health certification or related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license and a satisfactory driving record (MVR) required.
• Ability to read, write and use a computer.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to recognize boundaries and set limits.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
• Patience, self-control, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead DSP duties in developing and monitoring individual plans and ensuring accuracy of files and reports.
• Monitor medication administration records, progress notes, and related documentation.
• Maintain a safe environment by noting hazards and maintenance needs for site and vehicles.
• Address unsafe situations and participate in meetings/trainings as required by regulations.
