Job summary

Citizen Advocates in New York seeks a Team Lead to supervise Direct Support Professional staff across shifts, ensuring health, safety, and welfare of residents. You will organize duties, oversee programming, and coordinate with nurses and administrators while maintaining high-quality personal care and accurate documentation.

You will train staff, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to crisis and behavior plans, contributing to a respectful, inclusive community living environment.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED with three years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities/mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise DSP staff during shift and organize duties.
• Make decisions on unanticipated occurrences during shift and escalate as needed.
• Assist in contacting nurse or administrator on call.
• Provide on-site onboarding, training, and support.
• Ultimate responsibility for client programming and care.
• Provide personal care with appropriate privacy and lift/position as prescribed.
• Monitor and dispense medications per physician orders.
• Document programming and client care accurately.
• Attend meetings and complete required trainings.
