Job summary

Advocates for Life Skills & Opportunity (ALSO) in Oregon is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional to provide 1:1 in-home supports and lead a team of DSPs. You will partner with the Services Manager to deliver person-centered care and grow leadership skills through training and oversight.

Starting pay ranges from $19 to $20.50 per hour, with paid training and opportunities for advancement as ALSO expands. Join a team committed to inclusion and meaningful community participation.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of direct support experience with individuals with IDD.
• Flexibility to cover day, swing, and weekend shifts.
• Clear, effective communication with team, individuals, families.
• Commitment to inclusion, autonomy, and best interests of people receiving services.
• Willingness to grow leadership skills and advance to Services Manager roles.

Responsibilities

• Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, supportive connections with people receiving services.
• Training & Development: Train new Direct Support Professionals on essential duties.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure proper documentation (MAR, T-Logs, ISP data).
• Direct Support: Assist with hygiene, medical support, skills training, and daily living tasks.
• Team Leadership: Serve as a resource for team members and act as a proxy for Managers during absences.
