Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Control System Team Lead for the IDES division to drive NPI drivetrain controls for Large Track Type Tractor applications. You will lead cross-functional teams across software, controls, and validation from concept to production readiness.

The role requires strong systems thinking, embedded software quality focus, and collaboration with global teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions across transmissions, torque converters, and related mechatronic systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
• Experience in drivetrain controls, propulsion systems, embedded software.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
• Strong mechanical and electronics aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute NPI controls development activities for Large Track Type Tractor applications.
• Develop and integrate drivetrain control solutions for transmissions, torque converters, actuators, sensors, and embedded software.
• Own validation planning and execution across simulation, bench, and machine environments.
• Execute technology transformation projects to improve capability, quality, and efficiency.
• Apply systems engineering to balance performance, durability, safety, maintainability and cost.
• Coordinate with global teams for design reviews, software releases, and validation.
