Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Technical Specialist to provide technical leadership for door modules, window regulator systems and door glass across vehicle programs. This role will guide the development, integration, validation and production readiness of these components, ensuring that designs meet functional, performance, quality, cost, timing and customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in automotive components.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience with door systems, window regulators, glass, or related components.
• Knowledge of power window, anti-pinch, express-up/down functions.
• Experience taking components from concept to release, validation, launch and production support.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, GD&T, tolerance stack-up and DFM/DFMA.
• Experience with engineering change management and supplier reviews.
• Ability to interpret drawings, CAD data and test results.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical subject-matter expert for door modules and related interfaces.
• Define component requirements, specifications, guidelines and acceptance criteria.
• Lead technical reviews of concepts, designs, drawings, GD&T and tolerances.
• Guide supplier engineering activities and production readiness.
• Lead root-cause investigations for quality and field issues.
• Coordinate validation plans, testing, data review and approval of results.
• Maintain technical documentation and configuration integrity.
