Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
• Three years of licensed engineering experience; or seven years of professional engineering experience.
• Master's degree substitutes for one year; Doctorate substitutes for two years.
• Advanced degrees may substitute for up to two years; licensing cannot be substituted.
• Out-of-state licenses may require Louisiana licensure before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises engineers and technicians and reviews traffic studies and reports.
• Oversees design and plan development for pavement preservation and related projects.
• Directs contract proposals and specifications, including special provisions.
• Provides district-wide guidance on geometrics, drainage, and traffic control.
• Manages district surveying program and coordinates with agencies.
• Participates in Public Works project reviews and consultant contract administration.
