DOTD-Engineering & Operations in Louisiana seeks a district-level leader to direct highway construction and preservation programs, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, schedule, and quality. The role provides technical leadership on geometrics, surveying, drainage, hydraulics, stormwater, and flood control design.

Requires a current Louisiana PE license and substantial experience; substitution rules apply for advanced degrees.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Louisiana PE license.
• Three years licensed experience or seven years PE experience.
• Advanced degrees can substitute for up to two years experience.
• There is no substitution for licensed engineering experience.

Responsabilités

• Supervises Engineers and Engineer Technicians who perform traffic engineering studies and write traffic engineering reports.
• Provides guidance for subordinates in their reviews of consultants and district/submittals.
• Design/Plan and Specification Development: Oversees preparation of construction plans for pavement preservation and related projects.
• Directs and approves development of contract proposals and specifications.
• Water Resources: Oversees dam safety inspections, drainage, flood control, surveying, and storm water co-permittee activities.
• Consultant Contract Administration: Administers consultant contracts for design of district preservation projects.
• Districtwide Survey Program Administration: Oversees the districtwide surveying program.
• Performs other duties including emergency/disaster support activities.
• Provides technical expertise to District Permit Specialists and US Army Corps of Engineers.
