Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a seasoned distribution operations leader to supervise construction, maintenance, and operation of the distribution system in Michigan. You will ensure safety, uphold company programs, and drive restoration efforts during outages while controlling budgets and resources.

The role requires extensive experience in distribution operations, supervisory capacity, and the ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations.
• Two years’ supervisory experience in distribution activities or equivalent.
• Ability to travel 1–5 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to maintain a safe work environment and a safe distribution system for employees and the public.
• Promote and enforce safety programs and health standards for employees, the public, and company property.
• Supervise construction, maintenance, and operation of the distribution system to meet design standards and customer requirements.
• Manage resources within assigned budgets and oversee safe, timely service restoration during outages.
• Oversee performance reviews, merit programs, policy manuals, and personnel decisions.
