Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Directional Drill Operator/Locator Foreman to operate HDD rigs and locating equipment for underground telecom projects. You will ensure safety, coordinate installations, and support team efforts in a fast-paced field environment.

The role requires 3 years HDD experience, a valid driver’s license, and CDL within 30 days. You will work outdoors in various weather and read maps/diagrams to guide project builds.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Horizontal Directional Drill experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CDL required within 30 days of employment.
• Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch units.
• Underground construction and fiber builds experience.
• Ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build.

Responsibilities

• Operate horizontal/directional drill rigs and locating equipment.
• Ensure safety of the public and other utilities’ underground facilities.
• Lead teams in the field when directed by the supervisor.
• Read utility locates and coordinate day lighting of facilities.
