Resources for Human Development (RHD) seeks a Lead Direct Support Professional to join a team dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, independent lives. The role partners with Residential Managers to ensure quality services and to promote person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Direct Support Professional, including experience supporting individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Commitment to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Residential Managers to ensure quality services and compliance with program standards.
• Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to Direct Support Professional staff.
• Assist with staff development and promote best practices in person-centered care.
• Support compliance with agency policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Communicate effectively with guardians, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and personal hygiene.
• Support the development of independent living skills and personal growth.
• Accompany and support individuals in community activities, appointments, and social events.
• Implement individualized support plans and behavioral support strategies.
• Promote dignity, respect, self-determination, and person-centered services.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
• Monitor and report changes in individuals' health, behavior, and overall well-being.
• Complete accurate documentation and maintain compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations.
