Job summary

KenCrest is seeking a Lead Direct Support Professional in Delaware to mentor staff and support individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living, home, and community activities. This hands-on, team-oriented role requires you to lead by example, solve problems, and help people build life skills.

As a lead member of a care team, you’ll ensure safety, coordinate with families and health professionals, and document care plans. Autonomy, compassion, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• 1–3 years of experience in direct care or a health-related job.
• Must pass background checks and drug test.
• Able to complete CPR, First Aid, and Medication training.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and personal care
• Give medications and follow health plans (we will train you)
• Drive individuals to appointments, work, or fun activities
• Help people build life skills and try new things
• Encourage individuals to speak up and make their own choices
• Keep clear records and fill out forms as needed
• Communicate with coworkers, families, and medical staff
• Mentor and support other staff on your shift
• Help with money tracking, supplies, and scheduling
• Keep the home safe and follow emergency steps if needed
