Job summary

Community Services, Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking Lead Direct Support Professionals to support individuals with disabilities during day/swing shifts. You will help with life skills, accompany clients to appointments and activities, manage personal finances, and share on-call duties with the supervisor.

We require at least 1 year DSP experience, 18+ years old, a valid driver's license, and a clean background. CSI offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have one year of prior experience as a DSP.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Lead DSP positions require a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing life skills such as communication and self-care.
• Accompany individuals to appointments, social events, recreational activities, and other outings.
• Assist in the management of personal finances and review of documentation for the individuals in your care.
• Lead DSPs share on-call responsibilities with the location supervisor.
• Provide person-centered services and advocacy for individuals in positive environments.
• Implement behavior support plans and teach coping strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and case managers for coordinated care.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Adhere to regulations, policies, and procedures governing services to individuals with disabilities.

As a Lead DSP, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by assisting them in various aspects of daily living, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

What you will do as a Lead DSP:

• Support individuals in developing life skills, such as communication, self-care, and household management.
