Job summary

Community Services, Inc. in Tigard, OR is hiring a Direct Support Professional to provide person-centered support on a Swing Shift (Wednesday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM), 32 hours weekly. You will assist with daily living tasks, encourage independence, and document progress while ensuring safety and community inclusion.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• No experience required—training provided.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and with others.
• HS Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record preferred for some shifts.
• Acceptable background check.

What you will do as a Direct Support Professional (DSP):

Ultimately, the goal is to help the people you support, feel and become as independent as possible, while they live their daily lives. Among other things, you will:

• Support people with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, household routines, and community inclusion and engagement.
• Encourage choice, decision-making, and confidence in everyday activities.
• Assist individuals in developing life skills that promote greater independence.
• Build positive, respectful relationships based on dignity and person-centered support.
• Help create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments at home and in the community.
• Promote participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Follow and help to implement individualized support plans and document progress.
• Communicate effectively with families, team members, and other professionals to ensure consistent supports.
• Provide encouragement while respecting each person’s goals, preferences, and abilities.
• Ensure daily documentation and record keeping is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Comply with all applicable regulations, organizational policies, and procedures related to providing services and support to individuals with disabilities.

Minimum Qualifications
