Job summary

You will define datum schemes, allocate tolerances, and lead metrology strategy development from parts to full vehicle assembly, collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams to meet program targets.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in dimensional management, variation simulation, or metrology.
• Proficient in ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles.
• Experience using CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE for 3D visualization and interrogation.

As a Lead Dimensional Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting advanced sensor integration projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: $100/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

• Own the dimensional management for multiple major vehicle programs, ensuring precise sensor integration across various architectures.


• Lead the definition of functional requirements and establish robust datum schemes and tolerance allocations for sensor mounting and alignment.


• Review and approve metrology fixtures, ensuring alignment with strict program assembly and measurement standards.


• Develop and implement measurement and metrology strategies, identifying critical validation points from part level to full vehicle assembly.


• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to evaluate capabilities, define limits, and manage engineering escalations to meet program targets.

What's Needed?

• 8 to 10 years of experience in dimensional management, variation simulation, or metrology within automotive, aerospace, or autonomous robotics sectors.


• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Fixture Design Engineering, or a related technical field.


• Proficiency in performing 1D and 3D Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA) stack-ups to evaluate design feasibility.


• Advanced knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T principles, with a proven track record of creating, validating, and optimizing complex technical drawings.


• Practical expertise using CATIA V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) for visualization, manipulation, and interrogation of 3D models.
