Job summary

First Student in Joshua, TX is seeking a Lead Diesel Technician to lead the shop, drive safety and reliability for our school bus fleet, and mentor technicians. You will manage preventive maintenance programs and support operational practices.

The role requires 5+ years in diesel/auto maintenance or technical school training, a valid license, and CDL willingness. We offer day-shift hours, solid pay, and opportunities for advancement and training.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of diesel or automotive maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
• Previous lead technician, supervisor, or management experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; willing to obtain CDL with company training.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventive maintenance program and develop technicians.
• Oversee complex vehicle diagnostics and repairs; perform road tests as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of engines, emissions, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical and HVAC systems.
