Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Temple, TX is seeking a Lead Diesel Technician to set an example, mentor teammates, and work independently on major and minor repairs, with road tests to diagnose problems and complete maintenance tasks.

You will perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment, inspect brakes and other systems, log repairs in the Enterprise Asset Management system, and ensure safe operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience is required.
• 5–7 years of practical truck and tractor-trailer maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance and inspections of fleet diesel equipment.
• Log, research, and complete repairs using PFG tools, including basic diagnostics.
• Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required.
• Maintain and repair fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
• Document work orders for repairs and preventive maintenance in the online system.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings, and other critical parts.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, brake adjustments, and reassembly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
