Responsibilities:
- Utilize expertise in diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Diesel and CNG vehicles to keep GFL’s fleet safe and operational.
- Diagnose and repair Diesel and CNG trucks, including engines, electrical, propane, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
- Lead inspections of brake systems, engine components, emission systems, steering, wheel bearings, and other critical parts.
- Mentor and guide Level B and C mechanics.
- Prioritize repairs to optimize efficiency and timely work completion.
- Review mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules.
- Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
- Complete reports, work orders, order parts, and perform other administrative duties.
- Maintain safe work conditions and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Interpret electrical and diagnostic schematics.
- Participate in training and development to enhance skills.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and related regulations.
- Ability to interpret detailed schematics and manuals.
- Effective communication skills across organizational levels and with external contacts.
- Experience with diagnostic software; computer literacy required.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to operate trucks and equipment.
- Visual and physical capability to perform inspections and repairs.
- Concentrated mental focus required for diagnostics and safety.
