Qualifications

  • 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.

Job description

Waste Connections has an immediate opening for a Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Knoxville, TN.

Our Diesel Mechanic will perform repairs and preventative maintenance services on our trucks and equipment. We seek individuals with a leadership mentality and desire to grow with promotional opportunities in this role.

Pay Rate : $25.75 / hr plus approximately 10 or so hours of overtime weekly.

Overtime is time and a half after 40 hrs)

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Requirements –

  • 2 years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
