Job summary

SRM Concrete seeks a hands-on Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to lead a team of mechanics, supervise shop operations, and mentor staff while performing repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment.

You’ll diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, schedule maintenance to minimize downtime, ensure safety compliance, and keep accurate records. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; CDL is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• CDL preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor mechanics and shop staff, setting safety and efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Schedule maintenance with operations to minimize downtime and keep fleet ready.
