Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to lead a crew, oversee shop operations, and mentor a team while performing repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment. This hands-on role combines management and technical duties to keep our fleet delivery-ready.

You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, maintain safety standards, and keep accurate maintenance records. CDL preferred and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Has proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Shop Manager, or Lead Technician

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanics and shop staff, setting safety/efficiency/quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment (oil changes, lubrication, filtering).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel vehicles and heavy machinery.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Rebuild or replace major diesel components (heads, blocks, starters, transmissions).
• Coordinate with operations to schedule maintenance, minimizing downtime.
• Ensure safety policies are followed in shop and on job sites.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records.
• Stay current on diesel engine tech and repair techniques.
• Hands-on collaboration with the team to get the job done.
