Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Shop Manager / Diesel Mechanic to oversee shop operations, mentor a team, and perform repairs on diesel trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment. This hands-on leadership role combines management with deep mechanical expertise to keep a busy fleet delivery-ready.

You will schedule maintenance, enforce safety standards, keep precise records, and stay current with diesel technology while supporting daily operations to ensure reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational or technical certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• CDL preferred; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor mechanics and shop staff, prioritizing safety and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel vehicles and heavy machinery.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify problems and determine solutions.
• Collaborate with operations to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and stay current on diesel technology.
