Clean Harbors in North Canton, OH is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations, supervise maintenance work, and ensure DOT compliance for our fleet. The role requires hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and coordinating maintenance schedules with the team.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of diesel engine experience.
• At least 1 year DOT inspection experience.
• Valid driver\'s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience with electrical, ECMs, fuel, air, ABS, hydraulic systems, and engines.
• Proficient in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment including forklifts and trucks.
• Proficient in tooling and equipment diagnostic, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and physical tests on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize health and safety while following all safe work practices.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections; troubleshoot and repair as needed; service calls may occur offsite.
• Complete daily unit checklists for proper operation.
• Ensure daily maintenance duties are performed and report issues immediately.
• Submit all paperwork for PM schedules.
• Conduct Safety Checks and Annual Vehicle Inspections per laws.
• Ensure equipment is parked per DOT and permit requirements.
• Maintain compliance with Health and Safety SOPs.
• Keep work area clean.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Understand Clean Compliance Standards.
