Job summary

Herc Rentals in Gainesville, VA, is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance, mentor B/C mechanics, and uphold quality standards across the branch. You will drive preventative maintenance to keep equipment rental-ready.

You will diagnose engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, perform repairs, and ensure safe, efficient operation of all Herc fleet equipment. This role requires hands-on leadership and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at your branch.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes Herc Rentals quality and efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Enter and review work orders and complete part ordering via fleet management system.
