Herc Rentals is seeking a Diesel Technician A in Gainesville, VA to lead fleet maintenance and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical systems. You will perform preventive maintenance, conduct repairs, and ensure equipment readiness for rental use.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Own a sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple vehicles/equipment.
• Mastery of Mechanic B and C-level tasks.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.
• Proficient with computerized diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventative maintenance on the branch fleet.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc-owned fleet equipment.
• Diagnose engines and electrical systems; test equipment.
• Produce service reports and repair logs; follow procedures.
• Mentor Mechanic B/C and assist shop lead.
