Job summary

Global Environmental and Industrial Response is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic in Florida to ensure our fleet stays ready for field assignments. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel vehicles, including vacuum trucks, while mentoring junior mechanics and overseeing workflow to keep operations safe and efficient.

Applicants should have diesel trade experience, own tools, and a strong track record with diagnostic skills, CDL (preferred), and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Diesel Mechanic is required.
• Diagnostics experience is a must.
• Must have your own tools.
• CDL preferred.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is required.
• Clean driving record for the past 3 years.
• Must pass a background check and drug test.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel vehicles (including vacuum trucks and other equipment).
• Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions related to engines, transmissions, clutches, suspension, steering, and more.
• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components.
• Oversee and mentor other team members, provide technical guidance, and assist with scheduling and workflow management.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes.
• Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Test-drive vehicles.
• Accurately document issues found and repair steps taken.
• Ensure all work meets safety and company standards.
