Job summary

UPMC seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures at an advanced level and to coordinate department workflow. This role includes leading training, participating in QA projects, and assisting with talent recruitment while ensuring timely patient care.

The position operates Monday through Friday daytime hours with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of Diagnostic Imaging experience.
  • ARRT certified in Radiography.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR.
  • Act 31/33/34 Clearances; NY licensure if applicable for NY facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with QA projects and exam protocol development with senior technologists; communicates results to leadership.
  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews and provides feedback for annual reviews.
  • Coordinates daily department workflow and staffing based on call-offs, vacations, and patient volumes.
  • Performs responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I and Advanced Diagnostic Tech II.
  • Leads orientation and training for new hires and students; ensures competencies within required timeframes.
  • Assumes leadership in supervisor's absence.

Job description

UPMC offers a $10,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations. This position works from Monday to Friday during daytime hours with weekend, holiday and call rotation.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
  • Performs all responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I and Advanced Diagnostic Tech II.
  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary
  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • 3 years Diagnostic Imaging experience required. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
