Job summary

Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa is seeking a Lead Diagnostic Radiographer. This 1.0 FTE position involves producing diagnostic radiographs for radiologists and supporting imaging services across x-ray, CT, mammo.

The role requires ARRT credentialing or registry-eligibility, a current IDPH permit, and BLS certification, with 5 years imaging experience. Flexibility for all shifts and call duties is required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate competence in an Imaging setting with 5 years of experience.
• Must be credentialed in Radiography by the ARRT or registry-eligible.
• Must possess a current IDPH Permit to Practice in Radiology.
• Must be flexible to staff all shifts, weekends, holidays, and call duties.
• Must provide proof of BLS prior to employment and maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by radiologists.
• Assist in technical aspects, quality control programs, and regulatory compliance of Imaging Services.
• Participate in scheduling and shift coverage as needed.

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job

The Lead Diagnostic Radiographer will provide patient care by producing diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by the radiologists in the Imaging Services Department at Mitchell County Regional Health Center. They will assist in technical aspects, quality control programs and regulatory compliance of the Imaging Department.

The Position:

1.0 FTE 80 hours per pay period.

Shift:

All shifts - required experience in general x-ray, CT, mammo, and would be included in rotation for call hours

Position Qualifications

• Education:


• Shall be credentialed in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry-eligible.


• Experience:


• Must demonstrate competence in an Imaging setting for 5 years.


• Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes


• Must possess a current Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Permit to Practice in Radiology.


• Must be flexible for the staffing of all shifts, weekends, holidays, and call duties.


• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider) prior to employment and continue to maintain current certification in BLS.


• Complete Mandatory Reporting requirement within 90 days of hire.


• Renew Mandatory Reporting requirements every 5 years.
