Job summary

Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa is seeking a Lead Diagnostic Radiographer to join the Imaging Services Department. The role provides patient care by producing diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by radiologists and supports quality control and regulatory compliance.

This 1.0 FTE position requires ARRT credential or registry-eligibility, 5 years imaging experience, Iowa permit to practice, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• ARRT credential or registry-eligible to practice radiology.
• Minimum 5 years imaging experience in an clinical setting.
• Current Iowa IDPH Permit to Practice in Radiology.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required at hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic radiographs for radiologist interpretation.

• Support coverage for all shifts including call duties.

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

About The Job The Lead Diagnostic Radiographer will provide patient care by producing diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by the radiologists in the Imaging Services Department at Mitchell County Regional Health Center. They will assist in technical aspects, quality control programs and regulatory compliance of the Imaging Department.

The Position: 1.0 FTE 80 hours per pay period.

Shift: All shifts - required experience in general x-ray, CT, mammo, and would be included in rotation for call hours

Position Qualifications

• Education:
  • Shall be credentialed in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry-eligible.
• Experience:
  • Must demonstrate competence in an Imaging setting for 5 years.
• Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes
  • Must possess a current Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Permit to Practice in Radiology.
  • Must be flexible for the staffing of all shifts, weekends, holidays, and call duties.
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider) prior to employment and continue to maintain current certification in BLS.
  • Complete Mandatory Reporting requirement within 90 days of hire.
  • Renew Mandatory Reporting requirements every 5 years.
