Job summary

STR’s Mission Applications Group is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain infrastructure and tooling for deploying software in operational use. You will lead agile teams and collaborate with mission-focused engineers to deliver reliable, secure systems with high performance.

This role offers a flexible hybrid work model; expect 2–3 days on STR or government facilities and the rest remote, with emphasis on CI/CD, cloud platforms, security monitoring, and DoD compliance.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or related field and at least 5 years of work experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Gitlab) and pipeline automation.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and automated provisioning tools (Ansible/Chef).

Responsibilities

• Lead software teams to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and tooling to deploy software in operational use.
• Manage relationships with customer environments while guiding engineering teams to meet quality, reliability, and performance standards.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines across diverse deployment environments within Agile teams.
• Collaborate with corporate IT to ensure infrastructure toolsets are compliant with DoD standards.
