Job summary

STR is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer for the Mission Applications Group to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and tooling for operational deployment of software.

You will lead Agile teams, drive CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) across classified environments, collaborate with DoD‑level IT, and mentor teammates on best practices. U.S. citizenship and security clearance required; remote/hybrid work with 2–3 days on site.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with active security clearance or eligibility.
• BS in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of work experience.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab) and pipeline automation.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Containerization with Docker and Podman.
• Kubernetes management with EKS and Rancher; deployment and monitoring.
• Python and Linux shell scripting.
• Basic Linux system administration knowledge; cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead software teams to design, develop, and maintain infrastructure and tooling for deployment in operational use.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for diverse deployment environments.
• Coordinate with customer environments and corporate IT to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Coach team members on DevOps best practices and process improvement.
