Job summary

Care.com, a consumer tech company, is seeking an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to advance our cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability and security. You will own key infrastructure components, collaborate with Engineering, Security, and DevOps, and guide platform standards.

The role involves hands-on coding in Python/Bash, IaC with Terraform/Ansible, and mentoring juniors, plus participating in on-call rotations and documenting practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure automation and/or configuration management experience.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and HashiCorp Vault in production environments.
• Proficient with CI/CD tooling and automation (Jenkins, GitHub, and related tools).
• Strong written communication and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in high-impact, high-complexity projects, collaborating across Engineering, Security, and DevOps teams to drive architectural and operational improvements for our cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and system configurations on AWS to support Care.com’s services.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to provide escalation support around deployment tooling and workflows.
• Mentor junior engineers and facilitate training sessions on the operational and architectural aspects of the Care.com platform.
• Author and maintain high-quality documentation for our infrastructure and architectural standards.
