Job summary

Baxter is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to lead design, deployment, and support of cloud and platform engineering solutions that empower product teams. You’ll partner across engineering to build scalable, secure infrastructure with strong automation and observability.

You will drive IaC with Terraform, manage Kubernetes deployments, and mentor teams while aligning with Baxter’s mission. This hybrid role emphasizes reliability, security, and engineering productivity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; 5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure/cloud/platform/DevOps solutions.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud architecture, deployment, monitoring, security, and operational support.
Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies for scalable and repeatable infrastructure management.
Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications in production.
Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, including networking, compute, storage, security, resiliency, and scalability principles.
Experience implementing and supporting observability/monitoring solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, or similar platforms.
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, automate processes, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure solutions enabling development and operation of Baxter products and applications.
Manage infrastructure, platform, and deployment processes for product teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate provisioning and management.
Implement and support observability, monitoring, and alerting using Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor.
Utilize tools, metrics, and best practices to monitor infrastructure and applications and drive proactive issue resolution.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reliability, and engineering productivity.
