Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for DevOps & Infrastructure in Columbus, OH. You will join the Employee Platforms, Workforce Experience Tech team to design, develop, and troubleshoot secure, scalable software components within an agile environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, production stability, and applying AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality and speed, while aligning with enterprise SDLC, security, and governance standards.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience designing, developing, and operating ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python, SQL, and distributed data-processing technologies.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and query optimization.
• Experience developing production data solutions with Databricks, Apache Spark or PySpark, Delta Lake, and lakehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, access controls, schema management, data quality, and production monitoring.
• Experience integrating data from relational databases, APIs, files, and cloud-based storage platforms.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern languages and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and designs scalable systems.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews peers’ work.
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Applies SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to improve automation and value.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and improve operational stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architecture.
