Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) in Simsbury, CT seeks a Development Engineer to lead technical efforts from concept through development and production, reporting to the Product Development Engineering Lead. Qualifications

• BS/MS in engineering discipline (Mechanical or Aerospace preferred).
• Proven leadership of technical teams.
• Strong time and task management skills.
• Ability to interpret government/military specifications to design.
• Demonstrated experience generating 3D models & drawings; SolidWorks preferred.
• Capable of interpreting GD&T.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Ability to adapt to project changes and overcome technical challenges.
• Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD security clearance.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead on internal and external projects from concept through development and production.
• Develop and maintain the technical data package.
• Create 3D conceptual models and perform design trade studies.
• Interact with customers on design, interface and functional details.
• Interact with suppliers to procure prototype parts for risk reduction testing.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure production viability of new designs and document approvals.
