Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Scientist, Systems Engineering (Detection Algorithm Development) for Fort Wayne, IN. The role targets expert-level development of image/video processing algorithms for space-based EO/IR systems, with hands-on modeling, trade studies, and flight hardware integration.

You will collaborate with systems engineers to define CONOPs, ICDs, and implementation requirements, leading technical activities and supporting end-to-end system performance assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering; 12+ years of related experience or Graduate Degree with 10+ years of experience; or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years experience in Python, C/C++, or VHDL.
• Experience implementing image/video processing algorithms in FPGAs, GPUs, or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support development of image and video processing algorithm solutions for space-based EO/IR systems.
• Lead or support analysis of algorithms for system trade studies, requirement compliance and system characterization; perform modeling and simulation for Earth observing EO/IR systems in LEO, MEO, GEO.
