Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Fort Wayne, IN, is seeking a dedicated Optical Engineer to join onsite. You will perform hands-on lab work, align and inspect optical systems, and support imaging projects from UV to LWIR. Strong collaboration and meticulous documentation are essential.

You will work with Zemax/Code V, MATLAB, and other tools to validate designs, conduct system trades, and ensure performance. DoD security clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering; 6+ years of relevant experience. Graduate Degree with at least 4 years experience; or 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 4 years of hands-on optical alignment, testing, and inspection, preferably with remote sensing infrared and visible space-qualified systems.
• Experience with Zemax and/or Code V for design and analysis purposes.

• Conduct testing and alignment of complex optical systems in a lab environment.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
