Job summary

Apex Systems is hiring a Desktop Tech Lead to oversee a team involved in the migration of systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Anticipated Start Date:

  • PM’s/Tech Leads : 7/7/2025

Two Shifts: Monday – Friday, 6 AM – 3 PM, 12- 9 PM ( Possible weekend work – Subject to Shift – looking for flexibility in schedules )

Locations: Fairfax, VA | Falls Church, VA | Leesburg, VA | Alexandria, VA | Loudoun, VA | Mt. Vernon, VA

  • Desktop Tech Lead x4 OPENINGS: $30/hr.
  • Leading a team of 8-10 people
  • Hands on desktop experience, hands on keyboard support, upgrade/migration experience,
  • Ability to lead a small team, 8-10 people
  • Report day to day of team to the PMs, collecting data around attendance/OOO (workforce management)

Responsibilities:

· Manage resource allocation and ensure optimal utilization of team members

· Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders

· Serve as an escalation point for desktop field technicians Plan and execute the migration of systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11.

  • Assess and prepare existing hardware and software for compatibility with Windows 11.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Windows 11 upgrade.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users during and after the migration.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and security standards during the migration.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Windows OS migration projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
  • Familiarity with hardware and software compatibility assessments.
