Position Title: Lead Roving Technician

Position Summary:
The Lead Roving Technician (US) will be an integral part of the service team with the main responsibility to commission and complete preventive and corrective maintenance of CSI Energy Storage’s SolBank Storage Power Block (SPB). The individual will also be responsible for completing obligations under Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The successful candidate must be able to travel and complete tasks at various project sites throughout the US. Experience with BESS or renewable power generation equipment in a service environment is required.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Project Manager and Commissioning Manager to represent SolBank responsibilities.
- Review and coordinate SolBank commissioning schedule and forecast necessary manpower.
- Allocate contracted workers per the schedule requirements and manage their funding and onboarding.
- Train new Service Technicians to be able to commission SolBank.
- Place QR codes on SolBank and register them in the CMMS.
- Train technicians and contractors on CMMS and proper usage.
- Represent Services as site lead for new projects and drive scheduling, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Work with Field Service Supervisors to ensure effective transition to Operations.
- Act as field technical advisor for Service Technicians, Field Supervisors, and Service Department.
- Respond to situations that arise during SolBank transit, including repairs and damage assessment.
- Assist in procedure development and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform training exercises in the field for Service Technicians supporting commissioning and maintenance activities.
- Provide onsite diagnostic, troubleshooting, and hands-on support to maintain equipment and achieve availability and capacity guarantees.
- Develop operating procedures and processes.
- Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Electrical Technician
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in a service environment, preferably in renewable energy
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Proficient in converting technical data into manuals and procedures
- Previous training and knowledge of inverters
- SCADA experience is beneficial
- Knowledge of general and national codes, medium voltage power systems, and energy storage system applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
- Previous experience with a CMMS software program preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- First Aid Trained
- Ability to travel to regional locations as needed (over 50% of the time)
- Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
- Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct
