Job summary

OBMI in Miami, FL seeks a Lead Designer / Lead Design Architect to guide creative direction on high-profile hospitality and mixed-use projects. You will mentor teams and drive design excellence across the studio while collaborating with project managers, consultants, and leadership.

The ideal candidate has 12–14 years in architectural leadership, a degree in architecture, and licensure; proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe CS is required.

Qualifications

• 12–14 years of professional architectural experience leading projects from concept to completion.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture; licensed/registered architect preferred.
• Extensive hospitality, resort, luxury destination, and mixed-use experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite; BIM workflow knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual design across hospitality and mixed-use projects from early sketches to construction documents.
• Translate client needs and site constraints into compelling architectural solutions.
• Develop presentations, design packages, and drawing sets that communicate intent clearly.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and design discussions with stakeholders.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to studio-wide design reviews.
• Collaborate with principals on design strategy, proposals, and BD initiatives.
• Coordinate with project teams to maintain design continuity through phases.
• Ensure design intent is preserved in BIM workflows and documentation.
• Review shop drawings and assist in resolving technical challenges on site.
• Stay informed on sustainability trends and luxury hospitality design globally.
