Job summary

Journey, a global design and innovation agency, seeks a Senior Architectural Interior Designer to steer hospitality projects from concept to completion in our Miami studio. You will lead design teams, develop concept narratives, and manage BIM documentation with a strong emphasis on finishes and FF&E.

Hybrid collaboration is supported; in-person work is valued for creative output. Requirements include a B.Arch or interior design degree, 7+ years in design, Revit proficiency, and NCIDQ/AIA

Qualifications

• Formal training: B.Arch or bachelor’s in interior design from an accredited school.
• 7+ years of post-graduate design experience in architecture or interior design.
• Specific hospitality architectural/interior design experience.
• Strong communication skills; ability to present to clients.
• Experience handling multiple projects with changing requirements and tight deadlines.
• Proficiency presenting with narrative visuals and 3D models.

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with project teams through all design phases with minimal supervision.
• Conceptualize ideas and communicate them clearly to clients via narratives, 3D models, and sketches.
• Coordinate BIM documentation and interior design drawing sets; provide technical guidance.
• Select finishes and specify custom FF&E; ensure design intent and accuracy.
• Review drawings, FF&E specifications, and material schedules for accuracy.
• Coordinate design intent between team, client, consultants, and vendors.
• Address RFI responses, shop drawings, submittals, and punch lists during CA phases.
• Work with Design Manager on scope, budget, and schedule adherence.
• Mentor junior interior designers and support resource planning.
• Contribute to studio culture with a positive creative influence.
