Anthropic is hiring Software Engineers to help build Claude Design, a frontend-heavy product that enables real-time collaboration, design-system inference, and AI-driven generation experiences. You will work at the intersection of research and production, shipping high-quality frontend features with researchers and designers.

The role emphasizes craft in canvas rendering, editor UIs, and performance, with opportunities to shape roadmap and mentor junior engineers on a small team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building full-stack applications with deep frontend strength.
• Strong design sensibility and high craft standard; attention to interaction details.
• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js; familiarity with Python/Go is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship Claude Design's core surfaces (design canvas, real-time editing, live adjustment controls).
• Collaborate with research teams to translate frontier vision into intuitive design experiences.
• Work with designers and test users to gather feedback and validate product concepts.
• Set technical direction for frontend problems: editor architecture, real-time collaboration, and performance.
• Design and run experiments to test product hypotheses and balance creativity with measurement.
• Own quality bar for look and feel, prioritizing latency and reliability in production.
• Handoff to Claude Code and feed insights back to research on capabilities.
• Lead as a technical contributor on a small team and mentor engineers as the team grows.
