Job summary

HDR Remodeling, Inc. in Emeryville is seeking an Experienced Design Manager to lead our design team and oversee the full design-to-construction workflow for residential projects.

You will drive CAD modeling, coordinate with senior leaders and clients, balance style with budget, and ensure on-time delivery. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and hands-on design skills in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field is preferred; some coursework and/or years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 5-7 years of experience managing a design team (required).
• 3-5 years of experience in designing with residential remodeling knowledge, floor plans, elevations, and perspectives.
• Proficient in CAD Drafting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, vendors, and team.

Responsibilities

• Manage client communications, project timelines, design/build implementation, and meeting schedules, and project planning.
• Lead the majority of design work, including CAD modeling and Design for assigned projects.
• Balance aesthetic goals with budgetary considerations.
• Collaborate with a team dedicated to exceeding client expectations.
