You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Design Systems to translate ideas into coherent, reusable patterns while building a team renowned for exceptional craft.

• Exceptional product taste with strong judgment about how software should feel.
• A clear point of view on AI-native interfaces and curiosity about future patterns.
• Proven track record leading and developing product designers.
• Ability to turn interactions into reusable system patterns across products.
• Strategic cross-functional partner with Product and Engineering.
• Independent thinker who drives work forward with conviction and pragmatism.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Mercury’s interaction philosophy across our products.
• Set a high bar for product quality across the Interfaces organization.
• Lead and develop a design team, encouraging creative risk-taking and craft.
• Shape product strategy with Product and Engineering, framing problems early.
• Stay close to the work with critique, prototyping, and hands-on collaboration.
• Raise the craft and share frameworks across Mercury’s Design organization.
